The Big Lap - Geraldton

--oOo--

We had just come from Wildflower territory, Yalgoo and Paynes Find.  You are welcome to check out my pages for some cranking photos and video.

So now we hit the coast at Geraldton to head north to the warmer weather.  Winter this year could not have been more cold and miserable!

We have been to Geraldton many years ago with its leaning trees and fresh lobster.  This time we were just passing through so we stayed at the Drummond Cove Caravan just north of town.  It was still raining and cold, but we managed to get our ton of washing dry.

Consequently we haven't got many photos, so this is a rather small page.

How interesting is this glass ball right on the coast!  😁

Made for some interesting photos, except it was blowing a gale on the day.  It was difficult to open the doors of the car!  Can't wait to leave winter behind!

Geraldton War Memorial is interesting.  I took good photos last time but this time we were not going up the hill in the gale force wind just to get a photo of it, so I was content to grab this one from a distance.

But it is a very cool monument.

Barnacles Fresh Fish Shop right on the wharf where the trawlers come in.

Coming to the coast in the first time in too long, we just had to have some fresh seafood.  Last time we were in Geraldton we had fresh lobster.  Awwwww..... yummm!

This time we had fresh snapper, chips and scallops.  And the Scallops were soooo good!

In the short Vid below, I have left the wind sound in so that you get an idea of how blowy it was.

Check out the bird and surf captured in the ball and the palm tree blowing in the wind.
