The Big Lap - Seymour & Shepparton

SEYMOUR

Our last stop before heading down to board the Spirit of Tasmania.  There's nothing much to do or see in Seymour but we chose to stay there as it is much cheaper than any caravan park in or around Melbourne.  Plus there didn't seem to be any free camp spots between Seymour and Melbourne.   Anyway, Seymour served its purpose.

The caravan park here is basic but the staff are friendly and we joined them and others for happy hour at the fire one night.  That was nice.  Everyone was warm and friendly.  The amenities were clean and the sites were quite big and fairly flat so that was a bonus.

SHEPPARTON

We had to make an hour trip up north/west to Shepparton because it was the closest place that we could print out some documents required by the Spirit of Tasmania to take Tookie over to Tassie.

Whilst we were there we spotted a nice park with a stack of cow statues.  We stopped to see what it was all about.  So this is called Moooving Art.  Shepparton is dairy country and so it is fitting that they pay hommage to the industry by creating cool looking cows all over the place.  They are not just confined to this park but you will find them everywhere.  Even the cop shop has its own blue cow out the front.

Pretty cool I reckon.

On the way back and just out of town we spotted a big windmill and decided to stop to check it out.  Hubby was super happy to find a chocolate shop.  But it was no ordinary chocolate shop.  This one was called the chocolate and apple shop.  Confused?  So were we, until we entered the shop.

So did you notice in the photos?  Yes they specialise in chocolate apples.  A bit like the old candy apple that we all know, but instead coated in chocolate.  All sorts of chocolate.  There were huge ones too that they obviously coated quite a few times.

We were not game enough to buy one, however we did indulge in other chocolate.   I spied cherry liquours and hubby got coffee latte.  We also bought a small bar of Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey chocolate.  Its nice to indulge every now and then.  😋

Last couple of photos were taken from the car on the way back to show the flat uninviting landsape in the area.
