The Big Lap - Yanchep National Park

--oOo--

This place was one of our favourite hangouts when we lived in Mindarie, a northern suburb of Perth.

Yanchep National Park has a lot going for it and is a great place for the whole family to enjoy a day out.  They even have accommodation if you choose to stay overnight.  We stayed a few days recently on the Big Lap at the campground.  More about that below.

There is a beautiful old Inn, lovely gift shop, great chocolate shop & cafe, caves to explore, koala enclosure, kangaroos everywhere, a lake to walk around and canoe hire plus a tap tree, bush walks, BBQ facilities and even a golf course complete with kangaroos.

The Inn does great food, has a cosy fire place in winter, has pool tables and entertainment on Sundays.

CAMPGROUND

We had a lovely few days of camping here.  Being a National Park we chose a spot the furtherest away from the camp host and kept the bird hidden in our van. The sign out front showed a cat and  dog with the red line through which means either no pets or no cats and dogs.  We were prepared to quote the latter should someone question our pet. 😉

The kangaroos here again were everywhere like all other spots in the National Park.  Dinner at the Inn is always good no matter what you select.  Actually the Inn was really busy catering for Christmas in July, so we were lucky to get a place.

We also stuck on my new sticker on the Van.  See below.
Looks pretty good huh?
