MOREE
~~oOo~~
There is not much to do in Moree. Consequently, this is a small page.
We chose to stay at the Showgrounds. $30 a night for a powered site is a good price. Winter had set in fast and hard. We felt like we couldn't get away from the cold having escaped from Tasmania. It was like Tassie was giving us one last kick. So we decided to not do free camping as we needed the power to keep warm.
Moree Showgrounds turned out to be a great choice. We could drive around and choose a spot. Sites were nice and level and there were plenty of facilities dotted around so it wasn't far to walk to the loo or showers. We were also pleased to learn that they have washing machines too. I had plenty of washing to do so that was great. $4 a wash is pretty good these days.
The caretaker family were friendly and every evening they put on a music with the dad playing guitar and singing, along with some songs sung by mum and the girls. They were also joined by the son-in-law who played the guitar fabulously. See my video below. The young girl has a great voice and did a good job of her song so I secretly gave her $10 following the show. She was ticked pink about that.
😊
Hubby was happy to learn that there is a Thai Restaurant in town. We visited the Golden Taste Restaurant for dinner. Hubby loved the duck in plum sauce. I chose the Massman beef and whilst the beef was melt in the mouth nice, the curry was too sweet. I secretly wished that we could have gone to the club located behind the showgrounds and near us instead.
